i really wanted to answer this one last or something so i'd have time to think about it but it wouldn't leave my head. the short answer is that i'm insane and have brain worms. the long answer is...
i really like to overanalyze, and i have always tried to figure out why i love what i love and by extension why other people love what they do, or how they express it. this is especially because i feel like i don't relate to most portrayals of love in media, or more like i really resonate with specific things (i know all people have favorites but i just have the compulsion to figure things out). i used to write these insanely long why do i love scoups twitlongers (im not going to link because they are EMBARRASSING but im sure you can find them if u look) to try and figure it out because like i really didn't Get It and still don't.
i think love is this really beautiful ideal which is why i'm fascinated by it but i truly dont know what it is. here is one of my favorite quotes from anne of the island (anne of green gables #3):
[ “I suppose you’ve gone and refused Gilbert Blythe. You are an idiot, Anne Shirley!” / “Do you call it idiotic to refuse to marry a man I don’t love?” said Anne coldly, goaded to reply. / “You don’t know love when you see it. You’ve tricked something out with your imagination that you think love, and you expect the real thing to look like that.” ]
i want to know that how i see things is reflected in other people too and it's not just me inventing things so i like to project these ideas and see how readers respond!! i think everything i write (esp in the past 2 yrs?) is a little what-if story of what love could look like. but again love has to be perfect to me or i dont want it :_)
