TV
completed:
- The Pitt season 1
- Gossip Girl season 1 & 2
- S Line
- The White Lotus season 3
- Lost season 1
- Dear X
partial:
- F1 Drive to Survive season 7 episode 1?
- Gossip Girl season 3 episodes 1-10
- One Piece - One Pace cut, Wano 38-53; Episodes 1011-1015; One Piece Fan Letter
- Saturday Night Live season 50 episodes 11-20, season 51 episodes 1-9
the pitt was very good! honestly i think for me it suffers from ‘it’s so good that there’s not really anything to say about it’ tumblr syndrome, although i know there is plenty of discourse but i am not invested. whereas i can rage about gossip girl for hours because it’s a horrible show but It Made Me Care. i do wholeheartedly recommend the pitt though because i just feel like anyone can love it, it’s great tv and true to reality in most accounts, great characters and just masterfully crafted, 5/5 show.
gossip girl is like gilmore girls if you wanted to take out any pretense of wholesomeness. season 1 of gossip girl was honestly very good because it had a narrative to it (serena trying to improve her life and be a better person), season 2 was not great, season 3 was unbearable. the problem is that after season 1, the characters stagnated and then regressed. gilmore girls was good for longer before it got frustrating lol. i lowkey watched gossip girl for the vague idea of dair and then dropped it before getting to dair, meaning i watched 90% of their relationship development via youtube compilations and fmvs but omg i loved them so much.... that’s what i want.

part of my ideal type is the idea that you’ve known someone forever and didn’t realize how much you would end up loving them or things about them. on the surface not attracting but when u get to know them... everything changes. that’s the beauty of not being 100% similar to someone else, of someone else not being perfect for you. somehow through all the complication they become that anyway. i love that about how i got into seungcheol. it’s not like i disliked him. i just had no idea i would love him so much.
s line was forgettable (I forgot i watched it until i used twt search to find things i missed) but i support arin’s right to look beautiful on french red carpets. the white lotus s3 was really not good, i watched it after the emmys i think but it was so anticlimactic and not worth the time i invested into it hoping it would pay off at the end. when i watched s2 i was like yeah i don’t need to watch s3, this show is not that good but then i did anyway. i don’t recommend. dear x was a fun watch and really good visually - kim yoojung is excellent in it - but i'm also kinda whatever about it now that it's over... i liked this post though
i really like the structure of lost (survival present day interspersed with character-centric expositional flashbacks) but i honestly got bored near the end of s1 and i'm not sure how to get back into it... my problem with shows like this (the 100, yellowjackets etc) is that the survival and otherworldlyness just gets nonsensical after a while
i guess this isn’t really tv but i got more into chicken shop date this year, i’m kinda obsessed with amelia dimoldenberg! i think the whole concept of an interview disguised as a date which relies on bringing out chemistry between the guest and her persona is so fun and appeals to the hopeless romantic in me. my favorite is ofc the andrew garfield one, i really liked the billie eilish and damson idris ones too. passenger princess (the f1 collab series) wasn’t as good as csd, i enjoyed it but it has low rewatch value. actually it’s not like lando’s csd was that good...
i got back into one piece for a few weeks after the live action season 2 trailer came out but then i lost steam again T___T i caught back up to one pace and the problem with the full episodes is even though the animation is great (episode 1015!!!) it’s just more effort. i also have to watch on pluto which - while it is legally free - the ui is annoying.
snl is so white these days it makes me really sad... and i miss ego and heidi. ariana's episode was really fun though (here if you want to watch)

BOOKS
first-time reads:
- Almost American Girl - Robin Ha
- Percy Jackson and the Olympians - Rick Riordan (5 books)
- Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI - David Grann
- Good Morning, Monster: A Therapist Shares Five Heroic Stories of Emotional Recovery - Catherine Gildiner
- Daughters of the Bamboo Grove: From China to America, a True Story of Abduction, Adoption, and Separated Twins - Barbara Demick
rereads:
- Warriors - Erin Hunter (3 books) (Omen of the Stars 4-6)
- The Mysterious Benedict Society - Trenton Lee Stewart
i’m illiterate so it’s amazing i was even able to read one book written for adults. i read percy jackson because i’ve always wanted to and i was on a cruise lol. i’m percabeth fan! <3 killers of the flower moon i read because i was looking for an audiobook for my 6 hour drive to redacted but i ended up listening to podcasts instead and read the book on my phone after lol. i think it was well written though. i would like to read more non-fiction but tend to struggle to stay invested in longer books. good morning monster was the biggest page turner for me, which i actively chose to read whenever i had time - even at 7am in a tim hortons before an important interview lmao. idk how i feel about how much of the author is in this book but i really like reading stories about how people are messed up and how they recover from it because it's very hopeful
i stalled out on warriors because the dawn of the clans series is quite boring... i’m pretty sure i read it as a kid and it was my last warriors series but i just couldn’t get back into it. then i tried to read the mysterious benedict society but it was a lot less puzzly than i remembered it being. i really want to read the prisoner’s dilemma book eventually but i have other things to do. i bought some prequels to the little house on the prairie series and i really need to reread those

GAMES
- Pikmin Bloom (Mobile)
- Unsolved Case / Unboxing the Cryptic Killer / Parallel Experiment (2022 / 2023 / 2025) (Steam)
- Road to Empress I (2025) (Steam)
still playing pikmin bloom with my friends 🌸 i really think it has contributed to my walking habits a lot and i see that in my avg step count being around 8k/day instead of 7k/day last year.
the 2nd line is an escape room-esque co-op game series i played with arlene, we had a lot of fun with it. also we played escape memoirs mansion heist with frog/kaia but i think that game is less well-designed.
road to empress is an fmv game i knew nothing about until i was talking to siyao about jun being dubbed in his movie (which i didn’t even watch) and then like an hour later i had downloaded this on steam and it was genuinely so fun to play lol. it’s cheesy but you have to love the drama, and the sets/outfits were pretty and i like being a completionist, it was the right length for that. i'm eagerly awaiting the 2nd installment :') who doesn't love a political drama with some death and romance... it's like $7 right now and i highly recommend.
i played some unpacking/a little to the left but i don't think i finished either game.
(i went to steam to check if i'd played any other games and saw that the zero escape series is on sale and bought it lol. i played 999 on my ipod like 15 years ago and it scared the hell out of me but i think i'll be better now, and i need something to fill the ace attorney shaped hole in my heart...)
at some point i replayed pokemon mystery dungeon explorers of sky which was a fun blast of nostalgia :’) i played a little picross 3d too which is like this weird timesink once you get to hard level 10 and you keep repeatedly failing these puzzles that already have a 50 minute timer. i need to bring this on a plane
i got back into phone idle games for a bit lol. hard to say i “recommend” any... it’s like you download them to play while watching season 3 of your bad 00s tv show or in between ads on your discounted streaming service and then you get sucked into them. they are all deleted off my phone though. i replaced with pythagorea which is a math puzzle game. i love to be EDUCATED.
i don't do sporcle or nytgames dailies anymore but i do play minute cryptic and have a 46 day streak. i think the explanation videos just came up on my yt randomly and i clicked out of curiosity and a month and a half later here i am still obsessively playing daily. i even made a resource list which i sent to no one.

the other thing i got back into was forum mafia... i played a few games on the comm i grew up lurking on and i'm really not all that good at it but you have to remember it's okay and good to be bad at things! i am not good at social deduction but i like it because it combines logic with emotion/reactions and really has a lot to do with how people interact with each other, which is why ai can never play mafia in a meaningful way.

MUSIC
last.fm post
concerts attended:after stayc (who i love) i told myself i need to stop going to kpop concerts not because of how it looks but because i honestly feel i'm starting to not enjoy them as much. but i have tix for nmixx lmao... going to concerts is about spending time with your loved ones!! the exception is i went to andrew belle by myself which honestly was not ideal (like maggie rogers last year... going to concerts alone sucks) but i'm so glad that i went because his music is very meaningful for me.
SPORTS
- 2025 Formula 1 season (24 races), including attending the Australian GP in person

actually i am really amused by the revelation that i basically wrote the same amount this year that i did the previous year, it just feels different because it was in the span of two months near the beginning of the year and i didn't post anything on ao3. T__T i did try to write a few times this year but it just wasn't working. i did meet my 2025 goal though and will renew it for 2026.
