day6 gravity in la, day 1!

tl;dr day6 are so good at making music and performing and connecting with fans and i love them!!

• jae's hometown la 💕
• wonpil sungjin dowoon efforts to speak english TT
• ajdjdj i got so annoyed when wonpil was giving his ending ment and he said thank you to the audience for taking time out of their day "you guys must have other things to do but you chose to spend the time with us" and some guy in the back (i was on the balcony) said audibly "but they never thank us, we're the production" and he kept talking and i think someone shushed him… i think he was on the lights or sound team area anyway i was so annoyed you don't get to take away from a kind sentiment and ruin the experience for the dozens of fans that heard u (I wasn't even that close to the center back i was like midway down on the left)
• this is worse because following this ment (and before it starting with the encore vcr) there were multiple audio glitches…. in the vcr the audio just turned off for a while and then during the songs there were a few 10 sec stretches where no ones mics or instrumental audio could b heard so u could only hear dowoon's drumming and i guess the instruments but not plugged into the sound system and youngk struggling to sing loud enough for anyone to hear so i really thought it was someones vendetta against them
• brian also echoed the same sentiment about choosing to spend our time here and im sure the fans were all like TT bc he said iirc the main character of day6 shows is the fans n everyone was like noo lol
• jae said the main character is US (circling arms to stage and audience) i feel like ending ments are fanservicy and so are the idea of "unforgettable nights" just bc nights are probably like copy and paste to them. but it still sounds sincere from them .. things like we don’t come as often as we want to are hard to believe esp since day6 is alr in the us for the 3rd yr in a row but i can tell they genuinely enjoy touring
• loved the part where wonpil played keyboard? for I'm serious and man in a movie and had mydays sing them…. except we definitely flopped with the non english lyrics but it still was nice… seemed spontaneous enough too, the 2nd song choice because while i couldnt recognize what was being played i think one of them on bass or guitar was trying to play a song and then they decided to cancel it lkjsld and moved on to miam
• i was a flop day6 fan here too many songs i recognized but i didnt know which song it was until it got close to the chorus ajsjajs it's been too long since i listened to them extensively and i was too lazy to for the con so I'll do it after ❤️
• omg the western pop remixes …. like that sun/shape of you, i forget/blood, get lucky/i forget so surprising and so good
• just kidding it was blood and get lucky ❤️___❤️ so cool to hear a bit of blood live (one of my fave day6 songs) esp cause apparently they dont perform it live much and i dont see why e__e
• the second one was days go by x I don't remember still *(edit it was treasure i knew it was bruno mars)
• dowoon is so charming i loved his "the stage is burning" that sounded way too casually literal….
• day6's free hage is svt's aju nice!!! ending song hype
• so like. i have so many favorite day6 songs that theres lit no way they could all be played, and last time i saw them was oct.2017 so it was right before the november everyday6…. so they didnt play pouring or i like you which r in my top five. i couldnt see them in 2018 where i know they did pouring bc frog recorded it in my honor TT but i was happy that in the show vcr they both made an appearance it was memorable for me
• THE ENCORES …. THE LAYERED ENCORES …….. jae saying "we've already done 8 songs!" then "we've already done 16 songs!" and "we have lots planned for tonight" x500 and then "unfortunately our time together is coming to an end" like an hour and twenty minutes into the show ………….. and then "*cough* but with six encore songs *cough*"
• the next songs there were three i think and then they left the stage for the vcr which was fairly lengthy but cutely eng subbed and then they came back for,, LOL I don't remember which song it is tbh. is it cover? it's one of their ballads but it's not hurt road and i doubt its on everyday6 but i couldnt tell u…. anyway they did that and then you were beautiful TT and i thot that'd be it but then they did the ending ment and jae was like i know u guys take videos and pics for the memories and i do it too but for the last song let's (be in the moment) and i thought that was really cool, he was like its ok to do it for the next song (dance dance) but if u guys are okay with it keep the phones away for freehage
• and then i got annoyed people had their phones out for freehage bc it took me out of immersion but that’s my problem
• the show started off with best part and i watched and read a few day6 media interviews for this tour so i knew they made best part and time of our life specifically for touring and i think they're just so cool…. best part got some people standing, i didn't wanna force ppl behind me to stand up by standing but eventually i did a few songs in bc people in front of me did and also i had this annoying barrier in front of me ajsjdjs so i much preferred standing
• everyone stood up for time of our life though that was a few songs in
• i was surprised they didn't do all their titles and did a ton of recent bsides… starting to draw on sapphy's thoughts cause i read her FA this morning but yeah they only did a snippet of days gone by... no shoot me... no letting go, i get if they didn’t do all the title tracks from everyday6 but to not do the others
• i wish i hadnt waited so long to write this up but anyway i just think day6 are amazing performers, jae does so much to keep the atmosphere up and i think like, the way he talked to the fans encouraged them to be excited (don’t care what anyone around you thinks just react the way you want to) and stand up and i’m sure they get more excited to perform when they get that kind of response so i think it’s really cool
• the scale that I perceive to be jae - young k - sungjin - dowoon - wonpil in terms of stage energy is funny kljsdlkd not that wonpil doesn’t care though i think he was the last one to leave the stage at the very end?
• excited to only listen to day6 for a week.... hehe actually i remember having a sort of post concert depression after the first time i saw them but i’m ok now i’m excited to remember why i love them and their music and engage with it more, i think seeing groups live and in person in concert is so valuable in a way that doesn’t fully make sense to me yet
• like you cannot get the same experience watching a concert dvd or watching a fancam of a performance even if it’s like 4k right up close, it’s so different to be in the room and for the energy of the people around you to be fully focused in the moment . it’s so different to feel like the reactions you are having are directly mirroring back to the artists - either jae or brian said it, probably jae that the way the fans react directly goes back to them, they go wild because we go wild. and i think that fan artist relationship is so interesting
• i said this before when seeing svt but it is so nice that when you’re in concert it’s not about you anymore you don’t have to worry about anything like.... since i got to the venue a little early, was alone n i didn’t want the merch they had i just went to my seat and it was awkward bcs the other people in my row were also there but no one was talking slkdjkfld the seating was already pretty full 45-30 mins before showtime though nothing was going on, i was like why does everyone in my row look so bored but i mean everyone came alive when day6 came out TT
• i can’t believe since the last time i had seen them they released 5 songs for everyday6 plus a whole 3 mini albums. so there really are a lot of songs i haven’t seen yet n i wish i could have gone last year T_T i didn’t go because timing but even today my mom was like so why did u go see them when you’ve alr seen them slkdlkdf YOU DON’T GET IT.... but that’s the difference between the perspective of a fan and a normal person
• i liked shoot me ep a lot when it came out and it kind of fell off for me just because of how much i had liked it at the time but i’m glad i got to hear those bsides live (somehow feeling good warning), i loved somehow live and i didn’t even love it that much before. kinda sad they didn’t do shoot me bcs even tho it’s not my fave title it’s a banger (pun intended)
• for remember us ep my fave songs on it are days gone by and hurt road and i was holding out for hurt road (didn’t spoil myself on setlist) but i knew it was a long shot it’s very ballad T_T glad they did a bit of days gone by, my next fave song would be so cool which i didn’t like at all when it came out but came around to it sometime this year it’s a jam, no real feelings for headache but it’s kinda hype
• icb they did every song off tbos gravity but idk why that’s a surprise to me... cover is growing on me (YES I KNOW WHAT IT IS NOW) idk if for me will but its a classic day6 sound so i bet it will
• i looked up the setlist for their youth tour and that’s where they did so many moonrise songs…. this one they literally only did i need somebody, i think, which is kinda sad but its ok ins is my 2nd fave song off it after pouring so it was a gr8 experience and i generally like sunrise more than moonrise
• also kind of sad we'll never see their jpn songs live but they have so many good songs that it's ok
• i think the day6 voice that gets to me the most is wonpil’s it’s the most emotional.... even though brian is in this group who gives songs feeling and and sungjin is the main vocal and jae has a great tone
• stealing this from sapphy’s FA but day6 non-english line’s english is such a joy: [sungjin] also said "let's get... uh... [makes hand gestures] uh... OH, IT!!"
