day 1: thursday jan 9 - arrival

i woke up at 5:30 and took 1h 45 min flight to ny (LGA). landed around 10:30, took the bus to flushing and walked around the stores while killing time!! wandered into uniqlo and daiso but wasn't in the mood to buy, lots of shops and restaurants, also saw svt products at the saem and a jeonghan standee ❤️ but i was the only one in the store so i left so as to not expose my caratness.... also i have no checked baggage so i didn't have free range to buy liquids anyway. then i met up with megan and we had soup dumplings for lunch! the funny part is we could get the classic ones for free if we spent $10 so we got the colorful ones and this other thing that ended up being ? wontons full of rice and we did Not Like It and sadly we ate those last akfjajsks

we went to kinokuniya and looked at all the charming books and stationery!! megan bought her school supplies, i need to still use up stuff since its been a whole yr since i was in classes so idk what i actually need yet. stopped in the new york public library and looked at this jd salinger exhibit and then we decided to go to a cat cafe~

bubble tea on the way bc i said if i have it any later I won't be able to sleep but it turns out i clowned myself by getting a lemon honey aloe vera drink 😭 no caffeine and no milk but the lemon was really lemony and that was a lot on my stomach but i finished it adjsjdj the cat cafe was cute but most of the cats were asleep and not engaging with us TT but it was still fun!!! i like cats a lot i am excited to grow up and own one.....

passed thru washington square park in the dark, tried to go to a board game cafe but it was too busy so we just went to dinner!! megan found a restaurant serving south east asian food so we ate there and it was pretty good❤️ i got hainanese chicken rice and megan got beef rendang and roti canai for our appetizer and a mango mojito!! megan banned me from drinking bc of my sensitive stomach ajdjajsk i tried hers though it was good!

and then we went to Megan's house❤️ her family was super nice for letting me stay over TT we watched a lot of svt videos including the newest mvs and compilation edits (any ju b fans in the house!!!) and some nct/wayv and an episode of terrace house! also i love Megan's cat so much..... she is so nice 2 me i love petting cats

day 2: friday jan 10 - concert day

i usually sleep like shit on trips everyone I've seen can attest to this, it's not about being in an airbnb or a house but i just do fsr so i often sleep like 3-5 hours on concert nights and wake up at 5 or 6am (eg. day6 la, kcon la, svt toronto etc) but i slept really well last night 0____0 i woke up at 10 basically.... i love the memory foam bed. anyway we went to a diner for some classic breakfast food and then to this glasses store megan was telling me about!!! and we tried on so many frames and i was uhh feeling confident about my facial appearance today so i thought so many of them looked cute ajdjajsjsjsks but I didn't buy anything because it's a lot of $ to commit to and bad timing wrt last purchase and prescription.... but i feel like i have a better grip on what frames look good on me. then we went to the whitney (contemporary art) and i got art student megan to go around with and learn new things❤️ i really enjoyed it actually and i #get contemporary art better now than i used to or i can appreciate it more!! there were a lot of interesting exhibits and we saw them all but since it's so tall on the eighth floor we had a great view of the city!!!

megan had a snack at whitney and then we shared a bibimbap at gansevoort food ct it was yum and very agreeable to my stomach!! we wanted to get curry but the guy was like we're not open so....

then we went to world trade center where megan was supposed to send me off to the train where I'd go to NJ alone, but while we browsed stores she was looking for last minute under $50 tix on twitter aajdjskd she didn't commit to going so it was more like a if you get lucky you go and if u don't no hard feelings, and she was super lucky to get a good seat for like $45!! for context my ticket cost $157 after fees and I'm pretty sure we're in the same price tier ajdjaksk!!! so I'll always remember her buying it in the moleskine store ...

CONCERT (first north american tour stop)

we got there at 6:15 (doors open at 6, con starts at 7:30). hoshi was there outside before we were LOL but we got in pretty quickly, straight to one of the merch lines and luckily it wasn't the cash only carat bong line! i had seen the merch list on twt and wanted the black Ode To You hat and the tote bag if they had them, but as we approached it was clear there was no black hat on display but i asked the cashier first and he said 'no hats' and i said can i have the white one? he turned around and looked at the display and detached the white hat from the grid and handed it to me ajdjajsjs I'm so lucky TT the shirts are ok but too overtly fandomy and I can't wear those in public so I didn't want them also they're expensive.... $45-75.... "ticket holder" lanyard thing is ugly, the hat was $40 but I'm soooo pleased with the purchase!!

i loved my seat 😍 i wanted a straight view of the stage and i really got it..... when i bought the ticket it was like 25 minutes after presale started because i forgot about it... but its ok it was presale ........... anyway, i would have bought a higher tier if i was planning to go with friends but i was like sad over it so i said i dont need to fork over $200 lol

they played mvs on the screen while waiting and it was so fun i love carats!! last time svt was in na for a solo tour it was 2017 and they played in theaters, they were in arenas for kcon but like its kcon.... i was shocked when i saw the screens and telling megan like i cant believe they're really playing here 😭

carats cheered so hard every time seungcheol was on screen it really touched my heart.... one girl in my row had a slogan and she was leading cheers for him too. this was after the end ments but vernon said something about coups that I couldn't hear bc screaming

and it was so exciting just seeing the mvs for hit and fear bc u knew the concert was abt to start! spoiler alert but the only thing I didn't like about the con is that they did hit for the encore so they didn't do the full choreo and hit DESERVED TO BE PERFORMED PROPERLY TTTTTTT so that was a little bit hype killing but it's fine. again kcon the only arena concert I've been to so the screen/background quality and the sound was so amazing to me!!!!

setlist. side note I didn't know the setlist going into this so it had so many wonderful surprises in store for me. i did see the setlist after jpn con but i forgot most of it!!

getting closer - i was so excited i thought this was hit until it reached the chorus. jun bridge jump in person!
rock - megan and i both afterwards were like. that was not a good song, out of all of their old b sides why

the intro ments were sooooooo sooooooo funny thank you seungkwan and hoshi. thank you so so much. hoshi just loves to command the audience and seungkwan has so much SENSE. "THIS ISN'T YOUR SOLO CONCERT!" there was so much great banter. also seungkwan and dk try sooo hard with the english ments. it's so sweet i love them so much for it. sk was like (in eng) joshua is good at english so he's mc. not me (josh didnt do shit) hoshi went so wild he did wangja-nim call and response and yeolshishipun altho we kinda flop at the krn ones naturally! iirc carats also chanted hoshi and seungkwan's names during ments a few times :') (like BOO SEUNGKWAN! BOO SEUNGKWAN! BOO SEUNGKWAN! and he had the nerve to get shy)

space - AAAAHHHHHHH what was for a long time my tied for 1st svt song..... so beautiful, the lyrics, THE BACKDROP FOR THIS WAS SOOOOO STUNNING. SERIOUSLY!!! so spacey and pretty. also the way dk segued from his vocal team stage straight into this.... vocal legend

TTTTTTTTTTTT im sooooso so glad he was here tonight. dk did his eng ment and then cutely switched to kr. vns family was in the audience! hosh and bsk talking about how they were afraid they wouldnt sell out the arenas since they'd only done theaters here T___T happy it was a full house mostly today.... vn also mentioned coups here and i had been waiting for that it's tough not acknowledgimg absences TT mingyu ended by saying "u guys recorded us a lot today right? welll put down ur phones now and have fun!" BUT THE NEXT SONG WAS HIT. truthfully, i did want svt to say that for the encore bc i loved when day6 did that, but like, HIT.... so
hit - they did no choreo until the bridge which made it easy to not record but i had to record the choreo T___T man i wish i could have seen jun's center chorus live
aju nice - omg they literally fake ended did it like 5 or 6 times i lost count bc it was that ridiculous to the point i thought their second to last ending was the legit last one they're too good at this. also jun looked cute in the ending outfit too. they were wearing their oty customized shirts and jun had a cute blue hat on. jun waves so much when leaving the stage he likes to be the last one I've noticed this before

anyway,,,, jun. there was no coups for me to also hyperfixate on.... i like jeonghan but it's different. jun is more fun to watch on stage! it's tough to end concerts sometimes because i get left with the feeling, like, i didnt have a y/n moment or anything, i was just there and they did stuff but how is that different from the one sided environment of video recordings? seventeen does well reminding you that you're really there and this isn't just a carbon copy of every other concert, they add many city-specific touches (newarker-warker-warker-newarker, hoshi's I❤️NY outfit picture) and idc what sort of lies about what carats mean to them but it's just a genuinely good experience for us. you have a good back and forth ❤️ loved the whole "fill in the blank song quiz" it was super fun. and it was an amazing experience to have with Megan and I'm rly rly grateful for this opportunity, literally nothing went off plan and we got the bonus opportunity of her going to the con too! also i was rly happy bc my recent phone upgrade + the pretty backdrops meant i got really decent pics and videos i took so many akdjskdk better for the memories

also just wanna add that hoshi and dino have crazy stage presence. dino isnt as good at ment presence like sk and hoshi but during a dance performance ... scream

Megan's parents brought us home and we ate indomie and inca kola at midnight LOL
